Many DFW Libraries will be hosting free NOON Year’s Eve parties for the kiddos. Celebrate the New Year early with crafts, dancing, balloon drops and a countdown to 12 NOON!

Countdown to Noon at Sci-tech Discovery Center, Frisco
Celebrate New Year’s Eve science with Sci-Tech during Countdown to Noon Family Celebration! The Sci-tech Discovery center will be mixing science with play with interactive science activities to celebrate 2016 early on December 31 for the little scientists.

FREE New Year’s Eve Events
Sundance Square in Ft. Worth
Celebrate and ring in the new year 2016 in the fun and fabulous Sundance Square Plaza. We’ll jam out with music from America’s best party band, Professor D.There will be a countdown and short fireworks show. This is a FREE event. Beverages, including champagne will be for sale on site.
It’s a good idea to make reservations now if you’re planning to eat at a Sundance Square restaurant before heading over to Sundance Square Plaza for your NYE Celebration.

Big D NYE (Dallas) will not be happening this year. Bummer. Hopefully they’ll be back next year – fingers crossed.
Two Corks and a Bottle New Year’s Eve Party, Dallas
This one isn’t for the kids (21+ only) but it’s just about the only FREE New Year’s Eve 2016 event we found in Dallas (and it sounds fun), so, we thought we’d post it. Two Corks and a Bottle, Custom Winery and Wine Bar, will be ringing in the New Year with complimentary party favors, some food (feel free to take some to share) and a complimentary toast at midnight. Guitarist Mary Lee will perform from 8pm to midnight.

Laser Zeppelin at University of Texas at Arlington Planetarium
This isn’t exactly a New Year’s Eve specific celebration, but a laser light show set to Led Zeppelin could be a pretty fab thing to do on New Year’s Eve with tweens, teens or those grandparents who came of age in the 60s and 70s.

Zoo Year’s Eve Overnight at the Fort Worth Zoo
Keep your New Year’s Eve plans and leave the kids to us! Send your children ages 6 to 11 to spend the night at the Zoo for a kid-friendly Zoo Year’s Eve celebration. Kids will enjoy dinner, snacks, meeting some animals up close, touring the Zoo on a moonlight safari, fun games and crafts. Breakfast will be provided in the morning.

New Year’s Eve Sing Along at the Alamo Drafthouse, Richardson
Once again the Alamo Drafthouse will be celebrating all the biggest pop hits of the year, so you can be sure it will be Worth It as you sing, dance and Nae, Nae the year away. This event is geared to 18+, however 6 and up will be allowed with an adult. You’ll walk into the theater and immediately be served a glass of champagne in a commemorative glass that you get to keep! Most Alamo locations will have plenty of confetti, noisemakers and party hats for you to use, and most importantly, we’re going to have one big countdown right at midnight with the time on screen set to the Atomic Clock for maximum accuracy. Then the party will keep going for another set of music videos.

A new exciting event is coming New Year’s Day 2016. Day 1 Dallas is a family fair specifically designed for children and families to celebrate New Year’s Day together. This kid-friendly celebration will feature interactive activities, performances by nationally known entertainers, a spectacular fireworks show and your favorite carnival food. Come out and play on New Year’s Day at historic Fair Park.
