Disco Kids at It’ll Do Dallas
Disco Kids is a group of kiddos and parents looking for a break from the routine playground & play date circuit to let loose from some pre-dinner fun. Disco Kids is a dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real DJs & sometimes the kids!
When:  6:00pm – 9:30pm

Taste Addison 2016
Taste Addison delivers the tastiest eateries with the best music at Addison Circle Park. Known for 180+ restaurants in less than 4.4 miles and its nationally recognized special events, Addison serves up a good time no matter the craving. Cooking demonstration, children’s activity area and The Band Perry will perform Saturday night.
When:   6 – 11 pm

Cost: 
Adults $15 in advance ($20 at the event), $10 for children 4-12, free for children 3 and younger.

Frontier Forts Days at Fort Worth Stockyards
The 15th annual Texas Frontier Forts Days, held at the Historic Stockyards in Fort Worth. During this free, two-day heritage event, the Stockyards National Historic District is transformed into an authentic representation of Texas frontier life. Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards will be lined with encampments of historic fort sites from the Texas Forts Trail and elsewhere in Texas. Approximately 10 forts and related programs will participate in the event. Designed to highlight frontier-era life, Frontier Forts Days brings together authentic wagons, flags, music, colorful uniforms and military gear from Texas landmarks.
When:   10am – 5pm

Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games
Now celebrating its 30th anniversary. Renowned for its outstanding entertainment, the Festival again hosts top Scottish musicians, professional athletes, and champion highland dancers. An exciting array of food, merchandise, souvenirs, and beverages from Scotland and Great Britain will be available for purchase. Also, enjoy all-Scottish-breed dog show, tents representing clans and families, a Scotch tasting, fireworks and Scottish foods and ales. Children ages 2-12 can enjoy the Children’s Games, which includes the three-legged race, sack race, dash and tug-of-war.
When: 5pm-Midnight
Where: Mavericks Stadium, 1309 W. Mitchell St. Arlington, TX 76013 
Cost: $12-$25 for adults (depending on day and event), $8 for kids 13-17 and $5 for kids 6-12. Cash only at the gate.

Friday on the Green
Monthly concert series local bands, food and drinks from Near Southside eateries and food trucks, beer and wine and a Magnolia Green Market. This is a great evening for groups of families and friends. Blankets, chairs and pets are welcome. The streets in Watters Creek come alive with artist booths lined along the sidewalk and filled with original artwork in different media. This year 95 artists are participating from around the country. The festival gives patrons an opportunity to interact with the artists as they buy the unique pieces of art. Live music and dance, children’s art activities, and much more is offered throughout the weekend.

Frontier Forts Days at Fort Worth Stockyards
The 15th annual Texas Frontier Forts Days, held at the Historic Stockyards in Fort Worth. Asian Festival 2016
The largest gathering of Asian Pacific Americans in the Dallas area is back for the 26th year and bigger than ever! This FREE family event features authentic Asian cuisine, cultural performances, unique products and artwork at the Asian World Market, children’s activities, healthy living, games and many other activities!

Target Second Saturday at Latino Cultural Center
Target Second Saturday is a fun filled family event showcasing different art stations and performances every month generously sponsored TARGET.  Celebrate Mother’s Day with the Puerto Rican Association of DFW. There will be activities for mom and the whole family. 11 am-1 pm – Handmade Mother’s Day cards with Oil and Cotton, 2 pm – Salsa Singer Izis “La Enfermera de la Salsa” performance

The Taste of Irving is a free, outdoor festival featuring family-friendly activities and food from a variety of Irving restaurants. The highlight of the event are the food samples; each restaurant sells items from their menu for $5 or less!

Greater Plano Kiwanis Club Butterfly Festival
The Shops at Willow Bend will host the Greater Plano Kiwanis 15th Annual Butterfly Festival in Grand Court May 6 – 29, 2016. Visitors can walk through a conservatory filled with flowering plants and observe more than 1,000 flying butterflies in a natural setting. A portion of proceeds benefit the Greater Plano Kiwanis Club.

Paws on the Square
Paws on the Square is a FREE event that brings people, pets, animal welfare organizations, and pet-friendly companies together to make Carrollton a better place for our pets!  Featuring on-site adoptions provided by Operation Kindness, one free hour of Doga (dog yoga) (11am–12pm), a Dog Gone Scavenger Hunt (12–2pm; $25), low cost vaccinations (2–4pm), a special appearance by the Carrollton PD K-9 unit, and many other activities throughout the event.

Join the Noble Planetarium staff and members of the Fort Worth Astronomical Society for monthly Star Parties. Navigate the skies with the assistance of staff and the Astronomical Society. Weather permitting, parties begin at dusk and last until approximately 11:00 PM.
